1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
“Don’t work your entire life climbing a ladder of success only to find, once you reach the top, that the ladder is leaning against the wrong wallâ€. We all have that one “ladderâ€, whether education, business, or other personal achievements. Even during seasons of great success in my life, this statement has influenced the alignment of business decisions with my ultimate end goal of being an influential and present mother to my children.
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
Business. Absolutely everything about business. Starting with being financially independent at a very early age I knew that the type of life I desired could ONLY be achieved my being self-employed. I love launching new ventures, investing, identifying problems within organizations, and providing solutions to failing businesses. My favorite venture so far has been the creation of my 9-year-old daughters cake pop business! I hope that she keeps her entrepreneurial spirit forever!
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
Ways to finance an adoption without debt. Domestic and international adoption are both incredibly expensive. I truly believe that the impact of unnecessary debt on any family unit is significant, especially families bringing home medically fragile children internationally. My husband and I have been able to bring home two children through international adoption (approximately $85,000) without loans or credit and I would love to teach other families how to do that same!
4.What is the most random fact you know?
For me age isn’t defined by a number but rather a level of wisdom that comes from understanding, life experiences and acceptance. I’ve been immensely blessed in my life to experience amazing things. I would say that my life experiences both good and bad, have taught me lessons in life that many don’t learn until well into their retirement years! My soul may be old, but chasing these babies keeps me grounded in my thirties!
5.What is the one thing you’ll never do again?
My husband and I are both avid football fans. We love everything about the sport including coaching our children on youth teams and playing on indoor teams ourselves. We make it a tradition to buy NFL tickets every year when our two teams face each other during the regular season and it’s my favorite date of the year! Even though we cheer for opposing teams, these events add elements of playful competition to our marriage!
